Onetha Bethel, NBCT

School Counselor 

Mrs. Bethel is beginning her 25th year as an educator, with 24 of those years serving the students and families at Rutledge Middle School. Mrs. Bethel is a National Board Certified Teacher in School Counseling and a certified K-12 School Counselor. She holds a bachelor’s degree in Special Education and a master’s degree in School Counseling. Mrs. Bethel is passionate about pursuing personal and professional growth. Most recently, Mrs. Bethel completed the Education Specialist degree in School Counseling from The University of West Alabama. Under Mrs. Bethel's leadership, Rutledge Middle School earned the prestigious RAMP designation, which recognizes schools committed to delivering a data-informed school counseling program in accordance with The ASCA National Model:  A Framework for School Counseling Programs. Mrs. Bethel is a devoted wife and mother who treasures spending quality time with her husband, her 20-year-old young adult daughter, and her almost 17-year-old son.
